Provider Licensure Board Information

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) in Texas are regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC), which oversees the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.

These boards establish professional standards, regulate licensure, and investigate complaints in the State of Texas.

Complaints are reviewed and investigated by the Behavioral Health Executive Council in accordance with Texas law.
